Ikwo Man Hospitalised After Alleged Armed Attack in Oso Edda, Motorcycle Stolen by Oso Edda Youths 

A man identified as Ogodo Caleb Ikechukwu from Ikwo Local Government Area has alleged that he was attacked by a group of armed men suspected to be Oso Edda youths while travelling to Ishiagu from Ikwo in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

According to Ikechukwu, the incident occurred on 30 September 2025 at about 4:19 p.m. when he reached Amangwu in Oso Edda. He said that some adult men emerged near the first building close to a rice mill and attacked him with weapons including machetes, sticks, iron rods and a locally made gun.

Ikechukwu alleged that one of the attackers shot him in the stomach after beating him, before dispossessing him of his new motorcycle, which he said he bought for ₦1,000,000 in October 2024, as well as his bag and mobile phone.

He further stated that he has been receiving treatment at the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki (FETHA) since 4 October, where doctors reportedly removed nine bullets from his stomach, while one bullet remains in his waist.

The victim said he is currently struggling to pay his medical bills and meet basic needs such as food, and is appealing to the public for assistance.
