I’ve dealt with German cockroaches before, and I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone.

It got so bad that I spent over ₦100,000 on fumigation. Not once, but multiple times. I bought different insecticide sprays. I deep-cleaned my kitchen regularly. Plates, cups, even toothbrushes were not spared. Yet, they kept showing up.

What made it more frustrating was that my house was clean. No leftover food. No dirty corners. Still, every morning, there they were.

This went on for months until I stumbled on something called Green Leaf.

It’s a cockroach killer in powder form, packaged in a small green sachet. I bought it for ₦250. Yes, ₦250. After everything I had already spent, I didn’t have high expectations.

But it worked.

All I did was apply it to about 3 to 5 strategic areas around the house, mostly near the kitchen and places I noticed activity. The active ingredient is fipronil, which is slow-acting. The cockroaches don’t die immediately. They carry it back, spread it, and that’s how the infestation collapses.

Within days, I noticed fewer sightings. After a short while, they were gone.

One important thing though: beware of fake products. This is Nigeria, and copies exist. Always check for a NAFDAC number before buying.

I’m sharing this because I know how exhausting and embarrassing a cockroach infestation can feel, especially when you’re doing everything “right.”

If you’ve battled German cockroaches before, you’ll understand why finding something that actually works feels like relief.
