I know I said I was going to read more political and history books next year, but I don’t feel that I should waste my reading time on Soldier to Statesman: The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari by Dr. Charles Omole.
I know Dr. Charles from his intelligent commentary on X, but I sincerely feel that exhaustively recounting Buhari’s life (from the title alone, it’s clear the book aims to rewrite history, much like Babangida did earlier this year with his own book) is not worth my time. A man whose rule impoverished many Nigerians does not merit such extensive focus in my reading list.
