I have been grateful since I discovered the benefits of taking walks. So elated of the discovery that it has taken over my other exercises. I have not kept up with them for a while even though I make excuses for myself with tight schedules. But then after I go for a walk I forgive my excuses. Because it's easier and yet effective. Taking walks has been really good to me.
So this morning I started out within the neighborhood. The street looked deserted. Few persons were seen as people have left for their jobs and children in school. I enjoy walks the more with less people on the road. At the first junction two roads diverged, each promising a beautiful experience you might wish to both simultaneously. But I had to make a choice, so I picked the one by the right, and followed it till i reached the next junction.
The next junction is called secretariat road. the left side leads the secretariat complex in Abia state where you have several ministries sharing the massive building. Each ministry's floor written at the entrance of the building.
The right side of the junction led to Coniol junction. The very conoil road that connects to the Michael okpara University of Agriculture. But I didn't take either roads. Because straight ahead, across the junction rises the mighty JAAC building, towering so high you might miss that the building is located below a hill. You have to descend the road to see its foundations, and climbing down these hills and climbing up is the highlight of my walks. So I have looked both ways for approaching vehicles, I sauntered straight up toward the fascinating hills beside the JAAC building.
After the JAAC the road were flat. I took another left with the precision of one who knows where he was going to. I reached the international conference center in few minutes, the little hill beside it brought me a level with the fence of the Central Bank office. There is also another junction. The right side led to the customary court of appeal, but the road looks more lonelier and kept going that I found no interest in following it. It was getting hotter and I had to return for the JAAC hill. So I said hello to the policeman standing at the junction and he waved back. His colleague peered into a motorists car and took no notice of me.
So back to the JAAC hills. I got their and enjoyed the sweet pain of the ascension on laps. I walked slowly back the the secretariat junction and back to my street. I walked more relaxedly, going home.
