This is the disposable BIC shaving stick I currently use. I bought it from SaSa Market, Osun State Nigeria.

And honestly, seeing it today made me think about how sometimes we just pick up a razor and start shaving without thinking much about what happens afterwards. 😭😂

One thing I've learned is that shaving care matters, especially if you're trying to reduce irritation, cuts and razor bumps.

Here are 5 things I keep in mind:

1️⃣ I use a clean, sharp razor 🪒
A blunt razor can drag against the skin and increase irritation. I also don't share my razor with anyone.

2️⃣ I don't shave completely dry 💧
I wet the area first so there's less friction while shaving.

3️⃣ I shave gently
There's no need to press the razor hard against the skin or keep going over the same spot repeatedly.

4️⃣ I pay attention to the direction of hair growth
Shaving gently in the direction the hair grows may help reduce irritation and ingrown hairs for some people.

5️⃣ I keep my aftercare simple 🌸
Freshly shaved skin can be sensitive, so I avoid heavily scented products if my skin feels irritated.

I snapped this razor because it's such an everyday item, yet I know many of us have dealt with razor bumps at one point or another. 😭😂

So let me ask 👀👇🏾

Have you ever had razor bumps after shaving?

A. Yes 😭
B. Once or twice 😂
C. Never oo 👀
D. Don't remind me please 😩🤣

And if you have any shaving tips that work for you, share them below. We can all learn from each other. 💚👇🏾
