Hello Friend! Have you heard about the Lagos State Government social health insurance scheme, also known as Ilera Eko? This is an important update. Just grab a chair, let’s dive in.

Ilera Eko (loosely translated: health of Lagos) is a game-changer, a well-deserved opportunity to stay alive and healthy, especially for expectant mothers. The scheme is managed by the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA)

The Ilera Eko health insurance scheme includes both basic primary and secondary medical care suitable for formal and informal sector workers residing in Lagos State.

Why This is a Big Deal

You can’t plan other aspects of your life and leave your health and well-being to chance. This is the major gap that Ilera Eko is designed to bridge by helping you manage your healthcare emergency costs even before they occur.

For instance, the scheme, among other things, covers antenatal care, delivery (normal or C-section), and postnatal care for expectant mothers at registered hospitals.

This means an expectant mother can focus on her health and her baby without the constant fear of how to pay for the next check-up or the delivery itself.
