I have come to realize that the biggest trauma we face in relationship is emotional availability .
Let me bring it home
I am in love with a man
He works hard.
He provides
He comes home exhausted.
But there was one thing he never seemed to notice
I was drowning emotionally.
I wanted him to ask,
“Are you okay?”
I wanted him to see the smile I forced every day.
Instead, I stayed silent because I didn’t want to become another burden.
I said to myself , if he loves me surely he would notice that I am emotionally down
But One day I realized something uncomfortable,
Sometimes the people we love aren’t intentionally neglecting us.
They’re carrying battles we cannot see.
That doesn’t mean our emotional needs don’t matter.
It means healthy relationships require honest conversations, not silent expectations.
The hardest words I ever had to say were:
“I need you emotionally.”
But That conversation changed everything.
Lesson: Love isn’t just providing money or saying “I love you.” It’s learning how your partner receives love and feels supported.
Question: Have you ever stayed silent about something important because you didn’t want to burden someone you love?
