If you’ve been struggling with ads or you’ve never run one before, here’s something that changed the game for me.

Most people open Ads Manager first.
I open ChatGPT first.

Here’s how I use it.

Step 1: Tell ChatGPT Everything

Don’t be vague.

Explain:
• What your business does
• Who your target audience is
• What problem you solve
• Your price range
• Your goal (sales, leads, traffic, awareness)

If it’s your first time running ads, say it clearly in your prompt. That context matters.

For example:
“I run a skincare business in Lagos. My products target women aged 18–35 with acne-prone skin. I’ve never run ads before. I want to start with a small budget and generate sales.”

The more detailed you are, the better the response.

Step 2: Ask for a Full Ad Plan

Instead of asking for just captions, ask for:

• Step-by-step setup guide
• Recommended daily budget
• Target audience suggestions
• Ad copy variations
• Hook ideas for videos
• Call-to-action options

ChatGPT can break everything down in a way that makes Ads Manager less intimidating.

Step 3: Refine the Output

Don’t just copy and paste blindly.

Ask follow-up questions like:
• “Make this more persuasive.”
• “Simplify the targeting.”
• “Adjust this for ₦5,000 daily budget.”
• “Write this as a 30-second TikTok script.”

You’re basically using it as your ad strategist.

What I’ve Realized

When you give ChatGPT clarity, it gives you structure.
When you give it details, it gives you direction.

If you’re running ads without a plan, you’re guessing and you won’t get results.

Have you tried using ChatGPT before setting up your ads?
