It is not easy to stop smoking weed especially when you've been in the habit of smoking it for a while. The thing has a way of making you indulgent, so much that you don't recognize the patterns until it's taking control without you realizing it.
Lots of people struggle with the habit that's not news. And it is everywhere that the habit is hard to beat but don't let that discourage you. But at the same time, there are people who decided it's enough, and actually goes ahead to beat the habit.
Here are simple steps to stop smoking weed
STOP BUYING IT
Have you ever visited to a place, say a new town where you don't know who sells weed there? You can go days or even weeks without smoking there, because you probably don't know how to get them or even who to approach to ask for it. In such case you adjust because you don't have an option.
The same way you don't easily roll a joint or smoke any left over in your place when it's not available. So if you stop buying them, there is a higher chance that you will not smoke. This simple step can help you take charge and be in control of the urge.
TAKE A BREAK FROM YOUR FRIENDS
Sometimes you don't even want to smoke anything for a day, but then a friend of yours calls you to come hang out with them and eventually you find yourself smoking that day. Some other times too, you might be bored and call a stoner friend to meet up and definitely you must smoke before you said goodbye to each other. And other times you might be the recipient of that type of call, and they'll bring the weed right to your doorsteps.
But by taking a break from your friends who smoke or even avoiding them, will definitely help you in realizing you can actually do without smoking. You avoid them till you develop the mental strength to explain your decision to them without being easily lured back.
COMMIT TO YOUR HOBBY/HUSTLE
One of things weed does to you is to lull you into believing that you have much time. When you have somewhere to go and you start by smoking first, you're more likely to arrive there late because weed is good at making you waste your time.
But by committing to a hobby or business that you've been lukewarm about, you develop love for your yourself that comes from keeping to a routine. You find yourself looking forward to completing tasks that you struggle to before when you allowed weed to take control. The new found belief in yourself would be a propeller towards developing a deeper self love, which will have you questioning if you ever loved yourself before, to have been destroying your body with constant smoke.
ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER
Having someone to check on you and monitor progress report is essentially in the effort to get better. Ideally it's better the accountability partner is not someone struggling with the same habit as you, otherwise you might reach your limit so easily and fall back together into the habit.
But by having someone who has a different effort they're making, or someone who has already won the same habit as yours, chances are that you will likely be equipped enough to find daily motivations that turns into a discipline needed to achieve your desired goal.
