Welcome to Week 1!
If helping everyone in your family and everyone related to you makes you broke, you need to learn how to say no.
You are not a financial institution for your entire family.
Yes, family is important.
Yes, we should help one another.
But helping family should not mean sacrificing your own financial stability every single time someone has a need.
Because somehow, once you are known as the person who always helps, every problem becomes your problem.
School fees.
Rent.
Business capital.
Hospital bills.
A small urgent need.
And before you know it, you're funding everyone else's life while your own finances are struggling.
Be practical.
Before sending money, ask yourself
Can I genuinely afford this?
Will helping them put me in debt or make me unable to handle my own responsibilities?
Am I helping because I can, or because I feel guilty saying no?
Has this become a pattern?
You can love your family and still say
I can’t afford to help with this right now.
That does not make you wicked.
That does not mean you don't care.
It means you have financial boundaries.
You cannot build a stable life if you are constantly expected to financially carry everyone connected to you.
Help when you can.
Give what you can genuinely afford.
But don't go broke trying to be the solution to every family problem.
You are family, not the family bank.
Learn to use the word no.
