If I were starting again from zero, my roadmap would look like this:
1. Understand what data analysis actually is.
2. Learn Excel basics.
3. Practice with real datasets.
4. Learn SQL.
5. Build small projects.
6. Learn basic visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
7. Practice explaining insights clearly.
Most importantly, I stayed consistent. Even one hour a day made a difference over time.
Starting data analysis with zero experience isn’t about being perfect. It’s about starting small, staying curious, and practicing regularly. I didn’t know everything when I began and I still don’t but each small step built confidence.
If you’re at zero right now, that’s not a weakness. It’s a starting point. And every expert you admire once stood exactly where you are today.
