When I first moved to Ikate, I honestly had no idea how Lagos transport worked. 😅 I quickly learned that for short trips, I just stick to bike guys or keke riders I already know they know all the small streets and it’s way cheaper than hailing a car.

For longer trips to Lekki, Ajah, or even VGC, I go with Bolt or Uber. Sure, it costs a little more (₦800–₦1,500 for short rides), but at least I don’t get lost, stuck in traffic, or end up in some random Lagos alley.

My little hacks? Keep your phone charged, tell a friend where you’re going, and avoid peak hours if you can. Honestly, once you figure out the trusted riders and shortcuts, moving around Ikate becomes way less stressful and sometimes even fun.
