If you’ve ever spent time on Instagram and wondered how people are actually making money from it, I used to think the same thing. It felt like something only influencers or big creators could do, but it’s a lot more practical than it looks.
For me, it started with realizing that your page is basically your space. Whether you’re selling something or just sharing content, everything comes down to how you present it. I began paying attention to pages that were growing and noticed they were consistent. Not perfect, just consistent. They showed up often enough that you didn’t forget them.
One of the easiest ways to start is by selling something. It doesn’t have to be big. It could be perfumes, clothes, skincare, or even something really simple. What matters is how you show it. Clear photos, short videos, and honest captions go a long way. People want to see what they’re buying and how it looks in real life.
Another way is through content. If you enjoy posting, you can focus on a niche like fashion, lifestyle, or even sharing random daily moments. As your page grows, you can start getting small deals. Sometimes it’s just free products at first, but over time it can turn into paid promotions.
Something I had to learn is that engagement matters more than just numbers. You can have a small page, but if people actually respond to you, trust you, and ask questions, that’s where the real value is. Replying to messages, interacting with comments, and being active makes a big difference.
Also, don’t overthink starting. A lot of people wait until everything is perfect, but most of the pages you see now started very simple. You figure things out as you go.
Making money on Instagram isn’t instant, but it’s very doable if you treat your page like something you’re building, not just posting on occasionally.
