I wanted pizza at home but honestly didn’t have the patience to start making dough from scratch.

So I tried this tortilla version instead.

It was faster, easier, and the result was surprisingly good. If you have an oven, some tortillas and a few basic ingredients, you can make this at home.

What you need

For the pizza sauce:

-2 tablespoons tomato paste
-2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
-½ teaspoon paprika
-¼ teaspoon salt
-½ teaspoon ginger powder
-½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon oil

For the chicken:

- Boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
-½ teaspoon garlic powder
-½ teaspoon ginger powder
-Salt to taste
- 1 seasoning cube
-½ teaspoon black pepper
-1 teaspoon oil

For the pizza:

-3-4 tortilla wraps
-Grated mozzarella cheese
- ½ bell pepper, sliced
-Your cooked chicken

Step 1: Make the pizza sauce

Add the tomato paste, ketchup, sweet chilli sauce, paprika, salt, ginger powder, garlic powder and oil into a small pot.

Mix everything together and cook on low heat for about 3 minutes.

That’s your homemade pizza sauce sorted.

 Step 2: Cook the chicken

Season the chicken with garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, seasoning cube, black pepper and a little oil.

Mix properly and fry in a pan until the chicken is cooked through and slightly browned.

Step 3: Assemble

Place one tortilla wrap on your oven tray.

Spread some pizza sauce over it.

Add mozzarella cheese.

Place another tortilla on top and repeat the sauce and cheese.

Add your third tortilla and repeat again.

Now add your sliced bell peppers and cooked chicken.

Finish with another generous layer of mozzarella.

Step 4: Bake

Put it in a preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the edges of the tortilla are slightly crispy.

Take it out, slice it like regular pizza and serve hot.

And that’s it. No kneading dough. No waiting for dough to rise.

You can also switch up the toppings with sweetcorn, onions, mushrooms, sausages or whatever you already have at home.
