If I’m heading to Yaba, CMS, or Surulere, I usually take a danfo or shared bus from the main gate. It’s cheap, a little chaotic, and you get a full Lagos experience  sometimes I feel like I’m part of a reality show just trying to find a seat!

For Ikeja or the Island, I prefer Uber or Bolt because traffic can be brutal, and being crushed in a danfo with a laptop isn’t exactly fun. Prices vary  usually ₦800–₦1,500 for short rides, depending on the distance and traffic  but it’s worth it to survive peak hours.

For really short trips inside the area, I grab a trusted keke or bike rider I know  fast, cheap, and they know all the little shortcuts around Akoka and the campus. I always keep my phone charged, share my ride with a friend, and plan ahead to avoid Lagos traffic surprises.

Honestly, once you figure out which transport works best for each route, getting around Lagos from UNILAG becomes manageable, sometimes fun, and definitely a story to tell.
