I once had a relationship that completely broke me. For a long time, the hurt was there. The memories were there. And honestly, there were things I wished had happened differently.
But eventually, I realized that holding on to the pain was keeping me connected to a chapter I desperately wanted to leave behind.
So I made a difficult decision: I let go.
I forgave completely. Not because what happened didn't matter, and not because the hurt wasn't real. I forgave because I didn't want the pain to have a permanent place in my life.
I stopped trying to rewrite the past.
I stopped carrying the anger.
And when I decided to move forward, I chose to do it from a clean page - not pretending nothing happened, but refusing to let what happened define everything that came after.
Sometimes, it's simply acknowledging that it hurt, accepting that the chapter is over, forgiving, and giving yourself permission to begin again.
A new chapter doesn't require you to forget who you were. It requires you to stop living in what broke you.
Have you ever had to forgive someone - not for them, but for your own peace - and start a completely new chapter?
