You are reading it right now, and it feels like, oh is a simple question until you are sitting right there in front of your interviewer, thinking about yourself.

Most interviewers are not asking for your life story from primary school till now. They want a quick summary of your professional background.
A simple formula to answer it: you start with your Present, then Past, and Future.

Present: Start with who you are now, for Instance, "I’m a customer service professional with experience handling client relationships and resolving customer complaints."

Then, your past you Briefly mention relevant experience or education. For instance,
"I previously worked with the MTN company, where I improved customer satisfaction by helping clients resolve issues faster."

Future: End with why you’re here. This is the main thing that brought you there, so you state your intention briefly. Example, "I’m now looking for an opportunity where I can grow my communication skills and contribute to a customer-focused team."

Try to avoid these mistakes: Talking too much, sharing unrelated personal details, sounding like you memorized a robot script. If you don’t avoid it at a time when your interviewer will get bored, and you too will be running out of words, then at the end of the day, you might end up not communicating well.

The goal is simple: be clear, relevant, and confident. Because once you survive “Tell me about yourself,” half of the interview pressure has already reduced 😅
