Let's make this realistic not social media mathematics. 😂
Imagine you receive **₦500,000 today** and you have **NO other income for the next few weeks or months.**
How would you survive?
🏠 STEP 1: HOUSING
If rent is already paid, you're in a much better position.
If you have to pay rent from the ₦500K, your money could disappear very quickly.
🍲 STEP 2: FOOD
Groceries, cooking gas, water and occasional eating out can quietly consume a large part of your budget.
🚌 STEP 3: TRANSPORT
Work, school, business, fuel, public transport or ride hailing transport costs add up quickly.
💡 STEP 4: BILLS
Electricity, internet, airtime, subscriptions and other regular expenses.
🏥 STEP 5: EMERGENCIES
Don't budget every naira. Keep something aside for unexpected expenses.
💰 STEP 6: SET YOUR DAILY/WEEKLY LIMIT
After removing your essential expenses, divide what's left by the number of weeks you need the money to last.
Example:
₦500K
− ₦150K essentials
= ₦350K remaining
If you need it to last 5 weeks:
₦350K ÷ 5 = ₦70K per week.
That's your rough spending ceiling not permission to spend ₦70K every week. 😅
But here's where it gets interesting…
₦500K can feel completely different depending on where you live.
Lagos ≠ Abuja ≠ Port Harcourt ≠ Ibadan ≠ Kano ≠ Enugu.
And the same idea applies globally.
