Preparing for JAMB was one of the most stressful periods of my life, and honestly, I don’t think I would have survived it without the tutorial centers in Agege. At the time, studying alone at home wasn’t working for me distractions were everywhere, and I didn’t even know if I was focusing on the right topics. That’s when I decided to enroll in an Agege tutorial center, and it changed everything.
The first thing I noticed was the structure. Unlike my random self-study, the tutors broke the syllabus down topic by topic and focused on the areas JAMB usually sets questions from. They didn’t just teach; they explained why certain answers were correct and showed us common tricks JAMB uses to confuse students. I remember realizing how many careless mistakes I had been making simply because I didn’t understand the exam pattern.
What really helped me was the constant practice. Almost every session ended with CBT-style questions, timed exactly like the real exam. At first, I struggled to finish on time, but with repeated practice, my speed and confidence improved. The tutors were patient, especially with difficult subjects like Mathematics and Physics, and they encouraged us to ask questions without feeling embarrassed.
Studying alongside other JAMB candidates also motivated me. Seeing everyone else serious about passing pushed me to stay consistent, even on days I felt tired or overwhelmed. We shared tips, explained tough topics to each other, and sometimes stayed back after classes to revise together.
Looking back, using Agege tutorial centers didn’t just help me pass JAMB it taught me discipline, time management, and how to study smart, not just hard. It was stressful, yes, but having the right guidance and support made all the difference and gave me the confidence to walk into the exam hall believing I could succeed.
