From my nursery school years, I did not have any friend. During break, I just watched other children play. If I tried to play with them, they would only leave me standing at that place or they ignore me. I would come back home with my uniform as neat as it was in the morning. I had to stay alone most of the time. Moreover, I grew up like that. I tried to reach out to potential friends, but they just abandon me. I had my first true friend in the university and till this day we are still friends.
In my secondary school days, I had made a friend with one of my classmates. I thought she genuinely liked me until one day she opened up to my cousin that she was my friend out of pity. She saw how others rejected me, and she decided to stay with me. When he told me I felt so betrayed. I had considered her as my only friend then. I thought she liked me. We parted silently ever since; I do not know where she is in this world.
I had to learn to stay alone, adopt to a life of isolation and make myself happy. This is how I began my writing journey. I wrote to keep myself busy, express my feelings, thoughts and opinions about life. Writing became a hobby something I do for pleasure. Every time I write in my diary, it feels like talking to someone. As I describe my experience, I write down exactly how I feel. Grammatical rules do not matter to me, punctuation nor a beautiful handwriting matter. What matters most is the relieve I derive from writing. It feels like the burden is removed by an invincible hand.
My freedom from loneliness came when I began to know Jesus; embrace His love and fellowship with Him. I began to realize how close He is and His willingness to bear all our burdens. He says in His word;
'Matt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' (KJV).
Since then, I do not joke with my relationship
with Jesus. He is my closest friend. No matter what seems to be going on, I tell Him exactly how I feel; even if it feels embarrassing. He has been a great comforter and closest friend to me.
The only way to enjoy a relationship with Jesus is to give your life to Him. Feel free to talk to him about everything; your weaknesses, fears, failures, successes and others.
