Ok, so that picture didn’t necessarily depict what really happened. Imagine a group of blood thirsty youths about 20 or more, charging aimlessly into what they believe to be battle, with machetes, daggers, and bunch of bottles, both broken and not broken rushing into their untimely demise, you get the picture now yeah.
So I stay at Ipaja, Iyana Ipaja to be more precise, it’s a rough area, everyone is always here and there, it’s crowded and yeah, you get the idea, I don’t usually come out that much although I’m not an introvert so because of that they are so much going on I might not know unless it gets very serious, and this would have been what had caused a major upset yesterday.
The whole thing started with a fight that broke out between two guys, a guy from Iyana Ipaja went to the Aboru district and he had altercation with led to a fight between him and one of them and because the guy from Iyana Ipaja was in a rather unfamiliar territory he was ganged up on beaten, butchered with a machete to the point of death, he was depicted dead until later clearance by his brother that he was not, the Iyana Ipaja boys became furious and charged in to get revenge and the whole place was in commotion and while this was going on I had no clue because I was indoors throughout and around 6pm I decided to go out and touch grass and I just walked around to a barber’s shop whom was my friend, and that was when the brother of the friend explained that although his brother was beaten, he was not dead, I was still trying to digest the whole situation when some group of guys with machetes, daggers, knifes and bunch of bottles, came and pass us, now, coincidentally I was few steps away from where the official fight between the Iyana Ipaja vs the Aboru boys happened but it gradually shifted further from there. As we were talking, the guys rushing through stopped and took notice of me and they were all raging so they weren’t really thinking properly, Unlucky for me I was putting on a black scarf-like stuff around my hair and I had an all black outfit so they thought I was part of them and they started charging towards me but they was one or two of them that recognized someone I was with and that was what made them realize I wasn’t part of them, they left me because they knew that I was on the Iyana Ipaja side, if it were the Aboru guys that saw me, it would have been a different case. We left there, and the fight continued, nobody except those fighting knew when they stopped.
The fight unfortunately led to 2 deaths and many injured including those who knew nothing about the fight. Earlier today I was woken up from a nap by the annoying smell of tear gas and sirens everywhere from multiple police vans, which we believe to have put a stop to the pointless blood bath.
