But are we really free? Are we truly independent? Are we not still under the shackles of our former slave masters? Are we not still stubbornly clutching to our old chains of slavery?

Both young and old, this is a time to think and reflect. A Yoruba adage says, 'if a young one falls, he would look at the front, if an adult falls, he would look at the back'. 

Was this really what we wanted when we clamoured for freedom? Do we still want to continue like this?

Is this the Nigeria we dreamt of? 

Sixty-six years today but no maturity, stability, or unity.

Let us strive for a better Nigeria both young and old, rich and poor.

Strive to be better and start from your own angle, let me start from mine and together we would make Nigeria great and worthy of her independence.
