There was once a man whose life began in a world that desperately needed light.
He was born without the wealth of kings, yet his words would reach kings. He did not build an empire with armies, yet his message would cross borders, generations, and centuries. He walked among ordinary people, ate with them, cared for them, taught them, and reminded them that true greatness is not found in what a person owns, but in what a person gives.
His name was Muhammad ﷺ.
His life became a lesson in patience when patience was difficult, mercy when revenge seemed easier, courage when standing alone was frightening, and faith when the road ahead was uncertain.
He taught people to lift one another rather than step on one another. To forgive. To show kindness to the weak. To honour parents. To care for neighbours. To seek knowledge. To stand for what is right.
And perhaps that is why his story still speaks to us today.
Because centuries later, the world is still searching for the same things: peace, compassion, discipline, purpose, and a reason to become better human beings.
Eid-ul-Mawlid is therefore more than a date on a calendar.
It is an invitation to remember a life that changed history — and to ask ourselves:
If his example brought light to the world, how much light are we bringing into the lives of the people around us?
May we remember his teachings, live with mercy, walk with humility, and become better through the example he left behind.
