DAY 18 — A MACHINE CANNOT TREAT YOU IF IT IS NOT WORKING

Yesterday, we talked about reaching the hospital.

Today, let us talk about what happens when you finally get there (Hospital).

Because a hospital can have a fine building, nice chairs and a signboard bigger than the reception but if the equipment needed for diagnosis or treatment is unavailable, what exactly are we celebrating?

Cancer care needs functioning diagnostic and treatment equipment, properly maintained and supported by trained professionals.

A machine sitting somewhere and collecting dust is not healthcare.

And buying equipment is only the beginning.

It has to be installed.

It has to work.

It has to be maintained.

And someone must know how to use it.

Because telling a patient, “The machine is not working,” does not make the disease pause and say, “No problem, I will come back next month.”

Cancer does not wait for maintenance schedules.

So, precaution is always necessary.

Till I write to you tomorrow, let keep our body healthy and be safe.
