The 10k Laptops Project, launched in early December 2025, aims to distribute 10,000 laptops to young Nigerians to help them acquire skills in technology, design, and entrepreneurship amid the country’s tough economic climate.
The initiative is led by Dr. Ayilola, an emergency medicine physician who has so far raised more than ₦21 million—including a ₦20 million donation from Don Jazzy. With the funds, he has purchased and delivered about 34 laptops, sharing transparent updates and tagging the EFCC for accountability.
Despite the progress, some skeptics have questioned the project’s ₦2 billion target and demanded clearer evidence. Meanwhile, beneficiaries have continued to post unboxing videos to confirm receipt of the devices.
Davido, who is known for major philanthropic gestures—such as donating ₦300 million to orphanages—has not yet contributed to this particular initiative and instead recently shared images of himself aboard his private jet.
