She had to relocate because her assignment was up. Lo and behold after some months, she saw the guy again in the city she moved into. It is a mystery to her how he found her out and even traced her house again.
This time the narrative took a turn. The man got familiar with the area boys through a Christian barber shop across the road. There this area boys will meet him to hear about her. He began to use this means to criticize Mari; highlighting her flaws. The area boys began to mock her and insult her even sing mockery songs to her as she passed by them. Mari could not take this anymore because at this point she had finally come to like him but she expected him to ask her out first. It was not her duty. Many times when she sees him walk pass near her she usually greet him but she observed that he never responds with words. He only nods his head. He had never asked her ‘how are you doing’. In the new branch where she joined the man came there again and still spread those false reports, lies and mockery about her. The negative news spread like wildfire from the pastors to their wives and to all the units and departments thus she was rejected, mocked and falsely accused.
Mari began to wonder how she was to marry that kind of husband and cope with him. She knew God wanted the marriage but the situation shows they were no match for each other and the man never really loved her.
She sat in bed reflecting on these things and wondering when she will find the right person. She was not getting younger. It was night but she could not sleep, tears began to flow freely out of her eyes.
Then the biggest question came to her mind ‘what if the minister comes back for her will she accept him or reject him?’
