DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY’RE ACTUALLY USED FOR? 👀
If you've ever visited a local market or looked through the spices used in many Nigerian kitchens, you've probably come across cloves.
Those small, dark, strong-smelling spices? That's cloves. 🌿😂
Cloves are commonly used to add flavour to food and drinks, but they've also become very popular online for all kinds of health claims.
You've probably seen people say things like:
👀 “Cloves will clean your womb.”
👀 “Cloves can cure every vaginal infection.”
👀 “Drink clove water and your hormones will be balanced.”
But please… let's pause small. 😂
Cloves are a spice, and they contain natural compounds, including eugenol, which is responsible for much of their distinctive smell and flavour.
They can be enjoyed as part of food and drinks, but being natural doesn't mean they can cure every health problem.
And ladies, please be especially careful with claims about putting clove water, cloves or other mixtures inside the vagina to “clean” it. 🚫
The vagina is self-cleaning, and inserting herbs or homemade mixtures can cause irritation or disrupt its natural environment.
If you're experiencing unusual discharge, itching, burning, pain or a strong unpleasant smell, cloves are not a replacement for proper diagnosis and treatment.
🌿 Enjoy spices as spices. Learn before believing every viral health claim.
