If you work around Ikeja, finding breakfast that won’t kill your account is… something else. Honestly, I don’t know why people even overpay when there are spots that are lowkey good under 3k.

First, those small roadside akara and yam spots around Opebi and Allen. If you pass near Finger Licking Akara early in the morning, you’ll understand. Nothing fancy, just hot akara, soft inside, and fried yams that actually make sense. You can grab pap or bread, you’re still within budget, and you’ll be full for hours.

Then there’s Just Amala around Allen. I don’t know why, but their breakfast things aren’t bad. You can get a small meal and still be under 3k if you’re careful. I’ve gone there a couple of mornings when I was running late, and it just worked.

Tantalizers too… sometimes I go there, sometimes I don’t. If you pick bread, egg, and tea, you’ll still be okay on the budget. Just don’t start adding extras.

And Mama J’s Place… I don’t know, it’s just there. I randomly stopped one morning, and yeah, the breakfast was fine. Nothing fancy, just enough to shut your stomach up until lunch.

Honestly, the street spots are still the real MVPs. Those early morning akara vendors that you pass by and think, “Maybe… nah…” but you stop and realize, okay, they know what they’re doing.

I don’t know, Ikeja has options. Just depends on whether you care about aesthetics or just surviving the morning without hunger pangs.

Which spot do you actually go to for breakfast in Ikeja and still feel like you didn’t waste money, or are you still searching like me?
