One question I received recently was:

"At what age do anaemia symptoms usually start?"

The answer is there is no specific age.

Anaemia can affect children, teenagers, adults, and older people. It can also affect both males and females.

Some groups are at a higher risk, including:
🩸 Women of reproductive age (because of menstruation and pregnancy)
👶 Young children
🧑‍🎓 Teenagers, especially during periods of rapid growth
👵 Older adults
🥗 People with poor nutrition or certain medical conditions

Common symptoms may include:
• Constant tiredness
• Dizziness
• Shortness of breath
• Pale skin
• Frequent weakness

These symptoms don't always mean you have anaemia, but if they persist, it's important to seek medical evaluation rather than self-diagnosing.

💚 Remember: Anaemia is not determined by age. Anyone can develop it, depending on the underlying cause.

Before today, did you think anaemia only affected women or older adults?
