CREATED FOR GOOD WORKS

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV)

This scripture expressly explain our reason for being. We are here for good works, and interestly God created us for it. If He hadn't created us for it and ask us to do it, it would be impossible. But now the Bible says ".... created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

You were specially fabricated to do good works. So it is natural for you to do good works. 

What are good works? The expression of righteousness. But moral uprightness is not the same as righteousness. 

Some might boast about their moral uprightness. Moral uprightness is not bad, but it is not righteousness. Moral uprightness is living up to the moral standard of a society. Righteousness is living in the standard that grace has brought us into.

The cardinal way to express righteousness is love. Let everything you do be enveloped in love. Whether you are preaching the Gospel, singing in church or giving help to someone; let it be enveloped in love. And that's righteousness. Righteousness works with love. Always keep in mind that God created you for good works and deliberately give vent to it. 

PRAYER

Thank You Precious Father for having created me in Christ Jesus for good works. My whole being have you fabricated for good works; righteousness and love. Today and always I give full expression to it in thought, words and actions, in Jesus' Name. Amen!
