BY A PROPHET

"And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved." – Hosea 12:13 (KJV)

God is a speaking God, and He often chooses to speak through chosen vessels to guide His people. In this verse, the Holy Spirit recounts the Exodus not merely as a miracle of power, but as a ministry of prophecy. Moses was not just a leader; he was a prophet who heard the heart of God and communicated His strategy. Deliverance came because a man listened to God, and preservation continued because the people followed the prophetic word.

This reveals a timeless principle: God uses human instruments to transmit divine direction. When God wants to shift a nation, a family, or an individual, He often sends a word through a servant who carries His voice. To despise the prophet is to risk wandering in the wilderness. To honor the prophetic word is to find preservation. The same God who spoke through Moses is still speaking today through those who have trained their spirits to hear His voice.

Notice that preservation was tied to the prophet. Survival in the wilderness required more than strength; it required direction. When the cloud moved, they moved. When the cloud stayed, they stayed. Your preservation in this complex world may depend on your willingness to listen to godly counsel and prophetic instruction. Do not rely solely on your own understanding. God has placed voices in your life to help you navigate safely to your destination.

Reflect on the godly counsel and prophetic voices in your life. Are you honoring them, or have you been relying solely on your own intellect? Today, choose to value the word of God spoken through His servants. Listen with an open heart.

PRAYER

Father, I thank You that You do not leave me in silence. You speak, and You preserve. I honor the prophetic ministry in my life and open my ears to hear Your voice through Your servants. Let Your word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I will not wander; I will follow Your lead. In Jesus' name, Amen.
