Getting to LASU from other parts of Lagos can feel like an adventure and sometimes like a test of patience. 😅 Over time, I’ve figured out which routes actually save me time and sanity.
From Ikeja or Surulere: I usually take a danfo or bus heading to LASU main gate. Once I get to the gate, I hop on a short keke or bus that goes straight into the campus. It’s cheap, reliable, and if you know the drivers, they’ll drop you at the lecture hall or hostel without any drama.
From Victoria Island or Lekki: I normally book a Bolt or Uber. Traffic can be brutal, and getting lost in the Lagos maze is easy if you’re new. Prices for a ride usually range from ₦1,500–₦2,500, depending on traffic and exact pickup point, but it’s worth it to avoid stress and save time.
From Agege, Ojodu, or Ojo: I usually take a bus towards LASU gate via Ojo Road, then use a keke or bike to navigate the smaller campus roads. The buses are packed, but they’re cheap around ₦200–₦400 for short trips and if you leave early, you can avoid the worst of the crowd.
Tips that work for me as a student:
Leave early or late to avoid peak hour chaos.
Know your local shortcuts some small streets can save 20–30 minutes.
Keep your phone charged and share your ride info if you’re taking a bike or Uber.
Trust only familiar keke or bike riders if you’re going short distances inside campus.
With these little hacks, traveling to LASU becomes less of a headache and more of a predictable routine even with Lagos traffic acting like it’s auditioning for a reality show. 😅
