I’ve lived around Surulere long enough to know that choosing where to stay here can either make your life very sweet or very stressful.

Surulere has range. Quiet streets, busy junctions, old money vibes, and pure hustle zones all sitting close to each other.

If you’re planning to move here or just curious, these are the best areas in Surulere based on real living experience, not hype.

1. Adeniran Ogunsanya

If you want comfort and convenience, this is one of the best bets. The roads are decent, there are good restaurants, malls, gyms, and it’s generally calm. Rent is on the high side, but you’re paying for peace and accessibility.

2. Aguda Surulere
Aguda is very residential and family friendly. It’s quieter than most parts of Surulere and feels more settled. You still get easy access to major roads without the constant noise.

3. Iponri
Iponri is close to the Island and that’s a big plus for people who work around there. It’s not as flashy as other areas, but it’s practical, fairly calm, and strategic.

4. Ojuelegba
Ojuelegba is busy, no lies. But if you like being in the middle of everything, this area works. Transport is easy, food spots are everywhere, and rent is more flexible compared to places like Adeniran Ogunsanya.

5. Bode Thomas
This area feels more premium and organized. It’s popular with young professionals and families. The roads are good, security is better than average, and it’s close to many lifestyle spots.

6. Lawanson
Lawanson is more affordable and very lively. It’s a good option if you’re on a budget and don’t mind noise and movement. Everything you need is close by.

7. Masha
Masha sits between calm and busy. Some streets are very quiet, others are not. It’s central, accessible, and works well if you want balance without paying premium rent.

8. Ogunlana Drive
This is one of the most popular streets in Surulere. It’s neat, well connected, and close to Bode Thomas. Rent here is not cheap, but the environment makes up for it.

9. Shitta
Shitta is energetic and very community based. It’s affordable and busy, with lots of daily activity. If you enjoy a lively neighborhood and easy transport, this area fits.

10. Eric Moore
Eric Moore is ideal if you move around Lagos a lot. The traffic can be intense, but the location is very strategic. It’s great for people who want quick access to different parts of the city.

Surulere has something for everyone. The key is knowing what you value most: peace, affordability, or proximity. If you live or have lived in any of these areas, drop your experience. It always helps someone else make a better decision.
