We often pick toothpaste because of the flavour, the packaging or because someone recommended it.

But have you ever actually checked what is written on the tube?

I took a closer look at this Colgate Max Fresh and noticed something important: fluoride is listed on the toothpaste.

Fluoride is commonly used in toothpaste because it helps strengthen tooth enamel and helps prevent tooth decay.

A few things I think are worth checking when buying toothpaste:

🦷 Check for fluoride
Look at the label and see what active ingredients are included.

🦷 Check the packaging
Make sure the tube is properly sealed and the product information is clear.

🦷 Check the expiry date
Yes, toothpaste expires too. Don't just buy it and forget about it.

🦷 Don't choose only because it tastes or smells nice
Fresh breath is great, but toothpaste has a bigger job than just making your mouth feel fresh.

For me, this is actually one of the toothpastes I usually pick when I go to the supermarket.

I like the fresh feeling it leaves in my mouth, especially because of the mint. I also like the texture because it feels quite thick when I use it.

And of course, that fresh feeling doesn't mean the toothpaste is automatically right for everyone. If you have a specific dental problem, changing toothpaste alone may not solve it. A dentist can help you know what is actually going on.

I filmed this one from the front, back and even opened it so you can see the colour and texture for yourself.

Which toothpaste are you currently using, and what do you like about it?
