For some months now, I decided to go back to the basics just to learn and unlearn some foundational concepts in AppSec and also gain clarity where necessary. I started from understanding the Android Architecture, then proceeded to explore Android’s base security. What I discovered there was quite different from what I previously understood — and honestly, it looked very great to me. That pushed me to start deeper research and take my time to understand it better. That’s where I picked up on the concept of “Permissions” under Android’s Security Architecture.
