This is the Pears Baby Oil I currently have, and honestly, I know I'm not the only adult who uses baby oil.
But have you ever wondered why something called “baby oil” is also used by so many adults?
The simple answer is: baby oil can help soften the skin and reduce moisture loss.
Most baby oils are mineral-oil based. Mineral oil works mainly by forming a thin layer on the skin that helps reduce water loss.
That means it doesn't exactly “add moisture” to your skin. Instead, it helps keep moisture from escaping.
This is why one of the better ways to use body oil is:
🛁 After bathing, while your skin is still slightly damp, apply a small amount of oil to help seal in that moisture.
You can use it on areas of the body that tend to feel dry, and it can also make body massage smoother.
But here's something important:
More oil doesn't mean more moisturised skin.
Applying a very thick layer isn't necessary, and if a product doesn't agree with your skin, you may experience irritation or breakouts.
Also, despite the name, baby oil isn't a special product that adults must use. It's simply one type of skin-care product that some people find useful.
And as always, your skin decides what works for you.
What works perfectly for one person may not work the same way for another.
So tell me:
Do you use baby oil as an adult?
🅰️ Yes, regularly
🅱️ Sometimes
🅲️ Only for massage
🅳️ I've never used it
