Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State have taken to the streets to protest what they describe as their continued marginalization in recent federal appointments made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

At a meeting held on Tuesday, December 9, in Awka, members of the party voiced concerns that most federal positions have been awarded to individuals from other political parties—particularly the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)—leaving APC loyalists in the state sidelined.

They argued that this lack of representation does not reflect the efforts and loyalty shown by APC members in Anambra during previous elections. The protesters appealed to the federal government to revisit the appointment list and ensure that competent APC members from the state are fairly considered for upcoming roles.

Party stakeholders also highlighted the importance of inclusive political appointments, noting that such fairness would help sustain political stability and strengthen APC’s presence in the Southeast.

Dressed in white attire and red caps, the protesters marched through the streets to publicly express their displeasure.
