Disturbing discoveries have deepened concerns over the ongoing communal crisis in Amasiri community.

Security operatives uncovered several shallow graves within the area. The first body recovered was identified as an indigene of Akpoha. He had been tied up and buried after being beheaded.

Further searches revealed more graves. Among the victims were little children who had also been beheaded. Several other bodies were found in advanced stages of decomposition. Many of them were headless, making identification by their families difficult and, in some cases, impossible.

According to security sources, suspects arrested in connection with the crisis, believed to be from Amasiri, led authorities to the burial site.

The discovery has left families in grief and the wider community in shock, raising urgent calls for justice and accountability.
