I forgot to ask one simple question: "How often is water available?"

After moving in, I realized tenants only had running water twice a week. Everyone stored water in large drums, and buying water from vendors became part of my monthly expenses.

The apartment wasn't as affordable as I initially thought.

What I learned:

Ask how often water is available.

Check if there's a functioning borehole.

Ask current tenants, not just the landlord.
