AI can transcribe interviews in seconds, scan thousands of documents, summarise court rulings, and analyse data faster than any human team.
But it cannot sit in a community, understand power, or earn trust.
In Africa, journalism has never been about speed. It has always been about context. AI should free reporters to investigate deeper, not publish faster.
The real risk isn’t AI. It’s using AI to produce more content instead of better journalism.
