I’ve always loved going to Ibadan. The family. The tantalizing scent of amala and ewedu. The famous Ibadan bread. Everything about it just feels warm and familiar. I’ve always secretly wanted to live here and honestly after my last visit, that feeling only got stronger.

So let’s talk about why I think Ibadan might actually be such a fun place to live.

First of all, it’s huge. There are so many parts of Ibadan. Some rural and calm, some filled with big estates and proper city life. You can literally choose your lifestyle depending on where you stay.

It’s also very developed. There are restaurants, malls, cinemas and so many fun places. You won’t be bored unless you decide to be. There’s no shortage of service providers either. So many people are ready to work and offer services, which honestly makes life easier.

And can we talk about the weather? It’s cool. Definitely not the scorching, aggressive Lagos sun that humbles you every afternoon. Ibadan weather is actually kind.

At this point, when I’m done writing this, I might just dust off my suitcases and start brushing up on my thick Yoruba accent because living in Ibadan is looking very tempting.
