5 WEIGHT-LOSS MISTAKES YOU MIGHT BE MAKING WITHOUT REALIZING IT 🚨
Trying to lose weight but not seeing the results you expected?
Before you decide that “nothing works,” take a look at these common mistakes. 👇🏽
**1️⃣ Eating too little**
Starving yourself isn't a sustainable weight-loss strategy. When you constantly deprive yourself, you may feel extremely hungry, tired, and more likely to overeat later.
**2️⃣ Completely avoiding carbohydrates**
Rice, potatoes, yam, oats, and other carbohydrate foods are not automatically “bad.” What matters is your portion, preparation, and what the rest of your meal looks like.
**3️⃣ Drinking your calories without realizing it**
Sugary drinks, sweetened beverages, and frequent high-calorie drinks can add a lot to your daily intake without making you feel as full as a proper meal.
**4️⃣ Thinking “healthy” means unlimited**
Even nutritious foods contain calories. Nuts, avocado, oils, smoothies, and other healthy foods can still contribute significantly to your overall intake when portions are very large.
**5️⃣ Expecting results overnight**
Healthy weight loss takes time. Your body doesn't change dramatically in a few days, and the scale can naturally go up and down.
Instead of looking for a quick fix, focus on habits you can actually maintain:
🥗 Eat balanced meals
🍗 Include protein
🥦 Eat more vegetables and fibre-rich foods
💧 Stay hydrated
🚶🏽♀️ Stay physically active
😴 Get enough sleep
📆 Be consistent
**Remember:** You don't have to eat perfectly to make progress. You just need to make healthier choices consistently.
As a dietitian, my goal is not to teach you how to starve yourself. It's to help you learn how to **eat better, enjoy your food, and take care of your health.** 🤍
