Not every breast change means breast cancer. Your breasts can naturally change throughout your menstrual cycle, with age, hormones, pregnancy and other factors.
Here are 5 things every woman should know:
🌸 1. Breast tenderness can be hormonal
Some women notice their breasts becoming sore, swollen or sensitive before or during their period.
🌸 2. Your breasts don't have to look exactly the same
It's completely normal for one breast to be slightly larger or shaped differently from the other.
🌸 3. Breast lumps can have different causes
Some lumps are harmless, such as cysts or fibroadenomas. But a new or persistent lump should still be checked by a healthcare professional.
🌸 4. Your nipples can change too
Changes in nipple appearance, discharge or position can happen for different reasons. However, unexplained changes deserve attention.
🚩 5. Know the changes that aren't normal for you
A new lump, skin dimpling, unexplained nipple discharge (especially bloody discharge), a nipple that suddenly turns inward, or a persistent change in one breast should be medically evaluated.
💚 Knowing your normal is important. The goal isn't to panic whenever you notice a change. It's to recognize when something is different and know when to seek professional advice.
Have you ever noticed a change in your breasts and immediately became worried? 👀
